NBC signs incubation deal with kulshai.com

National Business Centre (NBC), which pertains to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), signed recently an incubation agreement with kulshai.com. The latter will be incubated at Riyada, which is managed by the NBC, and shall benefit from the various offered services and incentives.

Kulshai.com aims at connecting the seller and the buyer through an online platform to proceed with transactions away from the traditional methods. The company aspires to become one of the most reliable stores online by offering a lineup of services to various segments.

The company also aims at supporting small and medium enterprises to qualify them to the level of professional companies through developing marketing strategies that enable them to compete in the market. Kulshai.com shall confirm that all vendors registered with the company have the knowledge of market requirements and work ethics while ensuring quality standards.

It should be noted that the National Business Centre is an initiative of PEIE that aims at offering promising Omani entrepreneurs a platform to develop their business ideas and advance them into growing ventures. The centre provides business development support and guidance, training and mentoring, access to markets and industry experts, and state-of-the-art and fully equipped office space, meeting rooms and presentation facilities.

NBC signs incubation deal with Achievement for Limited Projects

National Business Centre (NBC), which pertains to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), signed recently an incubation agreement with Achievement for Limited Projects (Azima Catering). The latter shall benefit from the services and incentives offered by NBC. The agreement was signed between Malak Al Shaibani, director general of NBC, and Salma Noor Al Balushi of Achievement for Limited Projects.

Al Balushi noted that the company, which is specialised in catering services, commenced in May 2011 and is registered at the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Public Authority for Social Insurance, and Tender Board.

The company enjoys a fully established modern kitchen with an experienced international team to gather recipes and ideas from across the world. Al Balushi pointed out that in addition to its main location and kitchen, the company today has six cafes distributed in the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM 4 and Facility Building), headquarters of Omantel (Mawaleh), Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Education.

Through this agreement, the company will enjoy a marketing office at the National Business Centre in KOM, which shall represent the company and enhance its presence on social media channels.

It should be noted that NBC is an initiative launched by PEIE at the Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM) to offer promising Omani entrepreneurs a platform to develop their business ideas and advance them into growing ventures.

NBC event sheds light on creative industries

The National Business Centre (NBC), which pertains to the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), organised yesterday (Wednesday) Reyooq event, which highlighted topics related to creative industries. These topics included ways, mechanisms and significance of developing creative industries; small enterprises in the field of creative industries; and Omani talents in the creative industries.

Moderated by Hamood Al Hamadan, Director of Sas for Entrepreneurship Centre at Information Technology Authority (ITA), the event hosted speakers comprising Firas Al Musafir of Innovation Factory; Issra Al Lawati of Mint Marketing; and Haitham Al Busafi of Busafi Visuals. The speakers pointed out that ‘creative industries’ have become a major source of realising great financial returns. “The main value of creative industries is not only etched to manufacturing aspects, but also to information expansion and how to exploit such information in production. Creative industries rely primarily on talent and individual work, while diversity is also an important aspect from which creative industries grow and flourish,” the speakers discussed.

Sponsored by Ooredoo, the series events of Reyooq aspire to present an ultimate platform for Omani entrepreneurs to network with experts, and learn about entrepreneurship to get innovative and creative ideas for their businesses. This initiative also comes to develop the abilities and knowledge of entrepreneurs and put their perspectives forward to the experts in the field, besides enhancing communication channels. London’s Pistachio Rose founder shares her experience at NBC

The National Business Centre (NBC), which falls under the umbrella of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), welcomed at the centre yesterday (Wednesday) the UK entrepreneur Rekha Mehr, founder of Pistachio Rose in London. Rekha shared her rich experience with the incubated companies at NBC in establishing her company, which is recognised today as one of the major companies in the United Kingdom. Pistachio Rose received a Great Taste Award as a mark of excellence and were named one of London’s Top Biscuit Makers, with Rekha herself being nominated for a Young British Foodie award.

Rekha was acquainted with the entrepreneurship landscape in the Sultanate, and the vision, mission and objectives of the National Business Centre. Recognised as a milestone project for entrepreneurs in Oman and acting as a prime platform to develop and support Omani entrepreneurs, the National Business Centre aspires to launch more business and investment ideas and present them to the community to boost businesses and initiatives up to the desired economic growth.

Rekha Mehr is passionate about supporting the growth of early stage companies as she worked with ministers, government officials and lobbyists to inform policy and better shape the business support landscape. Rekha was informed on the objectives of the centre, which comprise facilitating and supporting the growth of investable ideas into successful businesses; building entrepreneurial skills through dedicated and focused training, coaching and mentoring; and providing business support facilities from office space, administrative support, financial support and consultancy services that are crucial in ensuring the success and survival of new ventures.

NBC organises open house event

The National Business Centre (NBC) organised yesterday (Tuesday) an open house event for the public with the aspiration to offer them a valuable opportunity to learn more about NBC, its services and the incubated companies’ experience at the centre.

Speaking at the event, Mulkie Al Hashmi, Director of Marketing at NBC, underscored the role played by the National Business Centre, which falls under the umbrella of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), to offer a premier platform for Omani entrepreneurs by providing business development support and guidance, training and mentoring, access to markets and industry experts, and state-of-the-art and fully equipped office space, meeting rooms and presentation facilities.

She also highlighted the objectives of the centre which comprise facilitating and supporting the growth of investable ideas into successful businesses; building entrepreneurial skills through dedicated and focused training, coaching and mentoring; and providing business support facilities from office space, administrative support, financial support and consultancy services that are crucial in ensuring the success and survival of new ventures.

The open house programme featured a successful story of an incubated company delivered by Shaima Al Lawati of Destination Sustainability Company. The company is specialised in corporate social responsibility and sustainability consulting in the Sultanate.
